A Packed House for an Outstanding Lecture on the Leedstown Resolutions
The King George Historical Society welcomed a full house on June 18 for an engaging presentation, "The Leedstown Resolutions," by local historian Dal Mallory. Mr. Mallory shared the remarkable story of the Leedstown Resolutions, which were signed in 1766 as a bold response to the British Stamp Act. The resolutions called upon Virginians to resist the unjust tax and refuse to comply with the law. Considered one of the earliest organized acts of resistance to British authority
