Highlight of a Historical Location: Rokeby Plantation
The land encompassing the earth fast house at Rokeby was apparently part of a patent of 6350 acres awarded to John Waugh on March 2,1691. Some of the land passed from John Waugh to his son Joseph Waugh on Oct 1, 1731. Then to William Waugh, son of John or Joseph. At some time, Dr. John Michael Wallace purchased the land. Documentary evidence shows that Dr. Michael Wallace arrived in Virginia in 1734. He is identified: Wallace, Dr. Michael (1719-1767), King George County; son
